This sculpture was inspired by sculptor
Juliellen Byrne who creates sculptures that feature puppet-like figures that seem to come from childhood tales to reflect on the issues present in society today. I was inspired to create a work similar to her style, featuring a child-like face to highlight the issue of child labor — The sewing machine, red strings trapping the sculpture. The reflective steel wall created using tin foil helped create the stark mood of this work as if situated at a factory.
