Beauty of Life
Since the 2020 pandemic’s spread, I have spent a lot of time just looking outside my window in admiration and observing the little things in life. It has given me a chance to notice, for example, the light from the sun that casts a geometric pattern onto the couch and the horizon line that seems to blur between the sea and the sky. I have learned to appreciate my surroundings and am inspired by the small beauties in nature. Growing up in the city, I’ve always been rushing around places and, if not, occupied by my own plans for what to do next. It has always been about the future and not the present. Therefore, I wanted to write this song to urge people to pause, look around, and admire what is already here and see the beauty in their surroundings. I wanted the mood of the song to have a soulful and relaxed Sunday morning vibe that can lighten the mood for listeners, creating the feeling of when you’re enjoying a morning stroll out in the park, safely.
Verse 1:
Rain is pourin, no one’s stoppin
Beauty dressed in cloaks of grey
Paper people, in the hallways
Fill the spaces, walk away
Roses bloomin, droplets falling,
Sun’s come up, no souls around
fires warming and i’m still Waitin
Clear your mind and hear the sound
Pre-Chorus:
Take a breath and see
All that this could be
For you
For you
Chorus:
So stop right under the blue skies
I hope you’ll realize
Everything lying here comes to life
It’s always been the prize
Verse 2:
Drums are growing, currents chasing
Living for tomorrow’s sun
Stop the running, feel the calming
Today has only just begun
Melt into this perfect moment
Feel the warmth beneath your skin
Hear the laughters, see what’s brighter
Awaken all that lies within
